This may seem like an odd inclusion for some of you, however those of you coming from either Facebook or Instagram may know that I put music to almost all of the posts I make. Whilst it may seem arbitrary on the surface, I actually put a good bit of thought into which music goes with what post; hence I would like to briefly elaborate on why I do it.
A Quick Explanation
Each time I make a post about a particular topic (distillery, event, update, etc.) I assign a band to represent said topic. For example, if I’m reviewing a new distillery, I will look for a band that has a connection to it in some way. Usually this is location based, but sometimes it can be because of a different reason, such as knowing the owner simply really likes a particular band. I also always try to pick a band that fits the feeling the brand gives off, to me at least, as well as making sure the song I pick is one I actually enjoy listening to. These are mostly guidelines, and many posts don’t follow all those points, but this is the general framework I follow for choosing a band to represent a particular subject.
Neither here nor LinkedIn supports the ability to use these songs sadly. While LinkedIn can’t be helped, I will do my best to mention the song I use on other social media at the bottom of the posts on this site, in case you thought about giving them a listen! I will also include a comprehensive list below of all the songs I’ve used in the past, and for which subject they were assigned, which does indeed include Stillhaven itself! I hope this helps at least one of my readers discover a new band to listen to!
